Enchanted Garden
As I began this series of work I found that I was wandering through textures, colors and layers of overlapping forms. These began to take on a meaning of their own, leading me to compositions of deep color and strange shapes. I imagined that these could be places deep in a forest where no one travels. The moss green and deep colors are places for the imagination to wander and wonder how many seasons had past. The signs of decay and regrowth exist in the same place simultaneously.
The deep forest is an imaginary place to discover hidden treasures. I have used an overlay grid of acrylic cubes as a way to find small treasures hidden in dense texture. The three-dimensional effect of layered acrylic invites the viewer to look deeper into the image.
The abstract forms in this series are intended to allow the viewer to create their own story of a magical place in an enchanted forest.
