Finding the edge between intuitive and deliberate mark making, Allison's work is a mediation on our natural environment. Her traditional Asian ink collage works are intricate paintings layered to create sculptural works. These paintings, based on fractal geometry, are also translate into large-scale works on metal, glass and industrial fabric. In 2015, she received a fellowship to study Zen and calligraphy in Japan, which continues to influence her work.
